Using The Wellness Book, we will explore the relationship between stress and dis-ease and provide holistic strategies for coping with stress and improving well-being. Each chapter of The Wellness Book focuses on a specific aspect of the mind/body approach. Basic information provided will help you develop the skills and attitudes necessary to begin to make healthy changes.
Objectives:
- To learn the mind/body model of health and illness.
- To develop the skills and attitudes necessary to begin to make healthy changes.
- To become more active in promoting your own health and well being.
- To understand the role of the relaxation response, nutrition, exercise and body awareness, cognitive restructuring, stress management, coping, problem solving and humor in the pursuit of wellness.
Cami Smalley, MA, Program Director
Cami has over 25 years in the fitness and wellness field including independent consulting, teaching, and coaching and employment with community centers, hospitals, and fitness clubs. Her first Master’s Degree is in Physical Education from the University of Northern Iowa with an emphasis in Cardiac Rehab.
She completed another Master’s degree from St. Catherine University in December, 2010 in Holistic Health Studies with an emphasis in Energy Healing. Cami is a certified Circle of Life Health and Wellness Coach and a YogaFit certified yoga instructor. She joined Well Within in December, 2008.
