Kathy Calabria uses energy, sound, vibrational and aromatherapy healing techniques combined with methods learned from classes in Cranial-Sacral, Jin Shin Jyutsu, and Matrix Energetics. This type of energy work can be performed with the participant fully clothed. These techniques involve placement of the therapist’s hands at specific directed points and meridians in order to release energy that is stagnant. This creates an opening for the area to let in circulation and healing energy. The hands remain in place until the energy is no longer blocked or the body tissue directs the therapist to move to other points.
Participants who are energy-sensitive may feel their energy begin to awaken in the form of a pulse, a buzzing, or warmth returning to areas that have been cold or stagnant. A typical session is 30-60 minutes. At the end of session, clients frequently report feeling less pain and being more relaxed, peaceful and in tune with their bodies. This is not to say, however, that a participant is “painfree”, but simply that some relief from pain is present.
